STEIN: Charlotte "Toddy" May

October 18, 1935 - September 27, 2014

We are saddened that the centre of our universe, Charlotte May (nee Wingert) Stein, passed away on Sept. 27, 2014. Toddy was born in LeRoy, Sask., the third child of George and Lily (nee Bosquet) Wingert. She lived her entire life in LeRoy, first on her parents' farm then eventually on the farm that she and Don, her husband of 59 years this last January, established. Toddy couldand diddo it all! She capably raised 8 children, she was Don's right hand and equal partner in the running of the farm, she was renowned for her down home cooking, especially her pots of soup and buns. Her vegetable and flower gardens flourished under her green thumb. She sewed, upholstered, and quilted. Over the years of working on the farm, caring for 8 children, and 小蓝视频 involved in the community, necessity brought out her creativity and innovation. She could whip up any design even without a pattern. She loved to be outdoors in her yard and garden but also on a calm lake with a fishing rod in her hand! Toddy had a huge heart and loved unconditionally. She liked nothing better than to have as many family and friends around her so she could feed us cinnamon buns, a big dinner, and then spoil us all with our favorite treats. She was the quintessential farm woman, ultimate wife, devoted Mother, sister, aunt, and a true friend. She lived simply, loved generously, cared deeply, spoke kindlyand was everybody's favorite! We were blessed to have her as our Mother. Toddy is lovingly remembered and cherished by her five sons, three daughters, 12 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren: Neil (Eldeen) Stein of Saskatoon and son, Spencer; Dale (Nora) Stein of Edmonton and sons, Douglas, Steven and Justin; Darrell (Darlene) Stein of Saskatoon and family, Jill and Mitch; Gary Stein of LeRoy; Penny (Kevin) Friske of Aberdeen and family, Paige, Josh and Brock; Gregory Stein of Saskatoon and daughter, Alyssa; Cindy (Darin) Churchill of Saskatoon and son, Devon; and Christine Stein (Lee Spray) of Saskatoon and son, Braydon; three sisters: Betty (Jack), Marge (Stan), and Jean (George); two brothers: Gerry (Mona), and Glen (Debbie); and numerous nieces and nephews. Toddy was predeceased by her loving husband Don (February 16, 2014); her parents, Lily and George Wingert; and three brothers-in-law. The Funeral Service will be held at the Wildlife Hall, LeRoy, on Saturday, October 11, 2014, at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Linsell Hurd. A Private Family Interment Service will follow at the LeRoy Public Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to the Crisis Nursery, 1020 Victoria Avenue, Saskatoon, SK, S7N 0Z8.
