BRONS:It is with great sadness that the family announce that Mr. August Brons 90 years of Humboldt passed away peacefully at St. Mary's Villa surrounded by his family on Saturday, October 15, 2011. August "Augie" was born on December 6, 1920 to Ludwig and Maria (nee Storch) Brons in the Marysburg District. He was the youngest of the natural family of five and then three other siblings were adopted by his parents. Augie attended Blume School and then helped his parents with farming. He did work in a logging camp for one winter and was in the Army for another. His early memories of childhood were that of work, they were a very hard working family with a variety of jobs that are done on a mixed farm and for entertainment they would rarely travel to town where they met their neighbours and socialized. Augie later did make time for a good ball or curling game. In 1949 his parents retired and Augie took over the family farm. On September 12, 1951 he married Helen (Fullawka) Bigoraj. Together they raised six children. They enjoyed their life on the farm and enjoyed visiting neighbours and playing cards and dancing. In 1983 they moved to Humboldt, but Augie continued to go to the farm and help Lyle until the age of 84 when he officially retired. Augie and Helen made many trips to the USA to visit family and made a few trips to Germany. Augie was an avid sports fan he loved fishing, golfing, slow pitch, and attended many Bronco games and loved to watch the Rider and Blue Jay games.
