REINHART: Anne
July 6, 1918 - October 6, 2014
Mrs. Anne (nee Lueke) Reinhart of Sunnyside Nursing Home, Saskatoon, SK, (and formerly of Humboldt, SK), passed away at her residence on Monday, October 6, 2014, at the age of 96. Anne was born July 6th, 1918 to Herman and Clementine (nee Duerr) Lueke at home on the farm in the Willmont district, west of Fulda. She was the second oldest of 13 children. She attended Keller School, 2 1/2 miles from home, a one-room school with one teacher for grades one to eight. Anne spoke only German when she started school, so she had the added challenge of learning English in order to do her schoolwork. After completing Grade eight, she stayed home to help her parents with looking after the younger children and the house. She later ventured to Regina where she did domestic work and worked at Sears for a couple of years. She married John Reinhart on October 6, 1947. They lived on the Reinhart family farm near Waldsea Lake, where they had a mixed farm of cattle, chickens, and pigs, also a few turkeys and geese. Anne had a 'green thumb' and grew a large garden every year, along with many beautiful flowers. She and John had six children who attended Burton Lake School until it closed, and they were then bussed to Humboldt schools. A gifted seamstress, Anne made clothes for herself and for the children for many years. After they left home, she turned her sewing talents to quilting, making quilts for all of the children and grandchildren. She also crocheted and knitted many beautiful afghans for her family. John passed away on January 20, 1972 after a lengthy illness, throughout which Anne cared for him in their home. In 1973 Anne moved into Humboldt with her three youngest children. There she became active in CWL, 4-H and bowling. She appreciated 小蓝视频 able to travel with friends and family members, and loved to visit new places. She also enjoyed card games with numerous friends, as well as keeping busy with her yard and gardening. Any family or friends visiting Anne were always welcomed warmly, and they never left without first enjoying a cup of tea or coffee, and some delicious homemade cookies or cake. In 2005 she sold her house and moved into a senior apartment where she made her home until 2011 when she moved to Saskatoon. Anne's strong faith has been a comfort to her in dealing with failing health of the last few years, and to accept very graciously the many changes she encountered. Anne is survived by her six children: Ronald (Doreen) Reinhart, Humboldt, and his family: Janel (Jason) Gutka and son Ronan, Saskatoon; Cara (Chad) Cuch and daughters Joni and Tori, Saskatoon; and Shawn Reinhart, Humboldt; Marguerite (Gery) Germann, Saskatoon and her family: Andrea (Angus) Grant, Edmonton, AB; Deryk Germann and partner Virginia Scissons and their sons Chester and Jack, Saskatoon; Lysanne (Jeff) Gaudet and son Kohen, Saskatoon; Gladys (Ken) Ewanick, Vernon, BC, and her family: Shannon (Adam) Warner and son Russell, Seattle Washington; Scott Ewanick and partner Shelby Lynde, Vernon, BC; Rosemarie (Dan) McGonigle, Calgary, AB, and her family: Riley (Janick Hebert) Gilchrist, Toronto ON; Carter Gilchrist and partner Missy Shana, Vancouver, BC; step-daughters: Kareena McGonigle and partner Josh Bota and his sons Hunter and Jackson; and Marla McGonigle and her fiance Kris Loustel, and their children Kjorvan, Sarika, Kaige, and Chet; Janet Reinhart, Saskatoon; Mary (Daryle) Kaiser, Saskatoon, and her family: Ryan Kaiser, Saskatoon, and Erin Kaiser, Saskatoon; three brothers and two sisters: Clarence Lueke, Regina; Herman (Edna) Lueke, Fulda; Dolores Beuker, Melfort; Francis (Lillian) Lueke, Invermay; Bernice Becker, Watson; in-laws: Florence (Siba) Lueke, Humboldt; Dan Steiner, Humboldt; Irene Lueke, Nokomis; and Florence Reinhart, Humboldt.
