SOKOL:

With saddened hearts the family of Bernice Anna Sokol announce her death in Kelowna, B.C. on March 16, 2012. She was born at home on May 8, 1915 and was raised on the family farm north of Melfort, Saskatchewan. It was there that she met and married Walter Leonard Sokol in 1935 remaining faithful to him as a teacher's wife, melding into many different communities on their life's journey. Predeceased by Walter in 1993 and her granddaughter, Anne Junk, in 2005, she leaves to mourn her daughter Bernice and son-in-law Gerald Junk (Greg Young and Priscilla Leong, Maureen and Gene Ramsbottom, Kevin and Margo Junk, Paul Junk, Karl Junk and Shelley McLellan); sons Leonard Sokol and Denis Sokol and daughter-in-law Peggy, (Ellen, Philip and Camille Sokol); nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Her remaining siblings are Sister Anastasia Korycki SCIC and Sister Antonia Korycki SCIC. Anna's life was celebrated with a funeral mass on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at St. Alphonse Roman Catholic Parish in Viscount, Saskatchewan with Fr. Demetrius Wasylyniuk OSB presiding. Family members acted as pallbearers. We are grateful to St. Alphonse choir who assisted family members with music ministry and to the local ladies group who provided lunch following the interment at the Viscount cemetery where Anna was laid to rest beside her beloved Walter. Thank you to those who were able to come and to those who held us in their hearts, but were unable to attend. It was a comfort. You may wish to donate to a favorite charity in Anna's honor. Schuler-Lefevbre Funeral Chapel, Humboldt, Saskatchewan.
