THE BATTLEFORDS - Families in the North Battleford area will want to attend an event coming up that focuses on young children.
Battlefords Early Childhood Intervention Program (ECIP) will once again be holding a special event for families with children up to age six as part of its Celebrate ECIP Week festivities.
The event will take place on Sept. 18 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Natural Play Space, located behind the Access Communication Centre, in North Battleford.
Jordan's Principle and Battlefords Early Years Family Resource Centre are also partnering in the initiative.
Among the highlights of day are a book signing by author , who wrote "The Great Annual Canoe Race," a fun, beautifully illustrated children's book set in Meota in the 1970s. May is both the writer and illustrator of the book.
Kids will also be able to build their own canoe with the material provided at the event.
Some of the other activities planned during the day include a barbecue from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., door prizes, face painting, "Search and Find," "Baby and Me," and an opportunity to visit the Quiet Tent.
