Northwest School Division sees many candidates gain trustee seats

Northwest School Division in Meadow Lake saw a number of successful candidates in the election.

MEADOW LAKE - Northwest School Division in Meadow Lake saw a number of successful candidates in the election for trustee positions on the school board.

For Subdivision 1 (Goodsoil, Pierceland and Dorintosh), Travis Neufeld has been acclaimed for the position.

In Subdivision 2 (Loon Lake, Meadow Lake Rural and Rapid View), Kim Russell with 146 votes was elected, overcoming Kelly Lokan with 32 votes.

For Subdivision 3 (Frenchman Butte, Paradise Hill and St. Walburg), Amanda McGowan with 193 votes was elected, defeating Clare Zeller with 31 votes.

For Subdivision 4 (Turtleford, Livelong, Mervin), Rick Starnes with 76 votes was elected, surpassing Randy McKee who received 31 votes.

For Subdivision 5 (Edam, Glaslyn and Vawn), Cheyenne Ludwig has been acclaimed.

In Subdivision 6 (Maidstone, Paynton and Waseca), Laurel Pauls with 118 votes was elected, defeating John Anderson (incumbent) with 29 votes. 

In Subdivision 7 (Marshall, Hillmond and Lone Rock), Kristen McGowan was elected with 118 votes, defeating Andrea Perillat (incumbent) with 60 votes.

In Subdivision 8 (Neilburg, Lashburn and Marsden), Vaughn Bellin was elected with 118 votes, surpassing Jeff Walso who claimed 96 votes. 

For Subdivision 9 & 10 (two positions for the City of Meadow Lake), Barb Seymour (incumbent) with 219 votes and James McKee with 203 votes were elected, defeating Glen Winkler (incumbent) with 177 votes and Barb Arnold with 164 votes.

For Subdivision 11 (Flying Dust First Nation), Patricia Main (incumbent) has been acclaimed for the role.
