A road swing north to La Ronge proved an inhospitable journey as the Yorkton Terriers dropped a pair to the host Ice Wolves.

The first of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League losses came Friday.

Braden Jakubowski scored 7:05 into the game, and Derek Frater at 19:53 to give the Wolves a 2-0 lead through the opening 20-minutes.

Shane Sherban cut the lead in half with a Terrier marker on the powerplay at 7:46 of the second.

But La Ronge got that one back when Jared Blaquiere popped a short-handed effort at 17:12.

Kailum Gervais responded to that with a powerplay marker 18-seconds later to make it 3-2.

Cole Porter would add an insurance marker for the Ice Wolves into an empty net at 19:53 of the third.

Kris Joyce had the win in the La Ronge net facing 42-shots, while Jakob Severson took the loss for Yorkton facing 35.

In a rare afternoon game Saturday, the Terriers would end up on the losing end of a 5-0 score.

Dakota Kenyon recorded the shut-out for the host Ice Wolves turning away all 43 Terrier shots.

Matt Kustra would take the loss in the Yorkton net facing 38.

LaRonge was led by Brendan Barron who scored a pair, with singles from Bryce Friske, Cole Porter, and Jared Blaquiere.

The two losses dropped the Terrier record to 7-13-0-1 and 15-points, and third spot in the Viterra Division. Weyburn sits atop the Viterra and 30-points, with Estevan second with 25. Melville resides in the Division basement with 13.
