TORONTO — Some of the most active companies traded Thursday on the Toronto Stock Exchange:

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Industrials. Up seven cents, or 3.35 per cent, to $2.16 on 13 million shares.

Bank of Nova Scotia. (TSX:BNS). Financials. Down 87 cents, or 1.1 per cent, to $77.96 on 11.2 million shares.

TC Energy Corp. (TSX:TRP). Energy. Down 42 cents, or 0.68 per cent, to $60.96 on 8.3 million shares.

Cenovus Energy Inc. (TSX:CVE). Energy. Down eight cents, or 0.62 per cent, to $12.77 on 7.3 million shares.

Baytex Energy Corp. (TSX:BTE). Energy. Down seven cents, or 1.99 per cent, to $3.45 on 6.7 million shares

Fission Uranium Corp. (TSX:FCU). Energy. Down two cents, or 2.38 per cent, to 82 cents on 6.5 million shares.

Companies in the news: 

Rogers Communications Inc. (TSX:RCI.B). Down 48 cents to $59.15. Rogers Communications Inc. says chief financial officer Tony Staffieri has left the company. It said Staffieri's departure was effective Wednesday. Senior vice-president Paulina Molnar has been appointed as interim CFO. The company did not provide a reason for Staffieri's departure. Rogers CEO Joe Natale said Staffieri upheld the company's financial integrity through his nearly 10 years as CFO. The company said Molnar will take on the interim position after 16 years with Rogers and 26 years in the industry. Rogers is expected to report its third-quarter financial results on Oct. 21.

Bombardier Inc. — Bombardier says it has received a firm order for 20 of its new Challenger 3500 business jets, valued at a total of US$534 million, based on current list prices. The company says the order from a customer who wishes to remain confidential is its largest this year. The Challenger 3500 business jet was unveiled on Sept. 14. The jet is an updated version of its Challenger 350 mid-sized business jet. It includes a redesigned interior as well as a voice-controlled cabin, wireless chargers and new 4K displays. The company says the new aircraft is expected to enter service in the second half of 2022.
