Microsoft says the technical difficulties that plagued some customers Tuesday have been resolved.
In a post on X, the company confirmed that "after extensive monitoring," the access and performance issues affecting multiple Microsoft 365 services are now cleared.
Earlier in the day, Microsoft said on its website that an unexpected usage spike resulted in two Azure components "performing below acceptable thresholds, leading to intermittent errors, timeout, and latency spikes."
At the time, Microsoft said it believed that network configuration changes it made had "successfully mitigated the impacts of the usage spike."
However, it said these changes were causing "some side effects" for certain services, and that it was working to address those effects.
Microsoft's website previously said the impacts of the issues were 小蓝视频 felt globally, including by users in Canada, who reported a spike in login, Outlook and website issues to Downdetector.ca.
Less than two weeks ago, Microsoft experienced widespread technical difficulties because of a routine software update from cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike.
The CrowdStrike outage impacted airlines, banks and major retailers around the world.
