WINNIPEG — Police say a Winnipeg man is facing several charges after a teen girl was abducted at knifepoint and sexually assaulted.

Police say officers were called Monday for a report of an abduction and sexual assault.

They say the teen reported that she had been walking down a street when she was taken at knifepoint.

Police say a man drove her to an undisclosed location, where she was repeatedly sexually assaulted over several hours.

The girl eventually managed to escape and used a passerby’s cellphone to call police.

Cory Lee Whalen, who is 40, has been charged with numerous offences, including sexual assault with a weapon, sexual assault, abduction and forcible confinement.
