Suncor Energy Inc. (TSX:SU). Energy. Up $1.26, or 2.35 per cent, to $54.93 on 11.2 million shares.Â
Manulife Financial Corp. (TSX:MFC). Finance. Up $1.59, or 4.73 per cent, to $35.19 on 7.4 million shares.
B2Gold Corp. (TSX:BTO). Mining. Up 21 cents, or 5.85 per cent, to $3.80 on 5.9 million shares.Â
Barrick Gold Corp. (TSX:ABX). Mining. Up 32 cents, or 1.39 per cent, to $23.30 on 5.4 million shares.
Canopy Growth Corp. (TSX:WEED). Healthcare. Up $1.11, or 9.0 per cent, to $13.49 on 5.0 million shares.Â

Cineplex Inc. (TSX:CGX). Media. Down 29 cents, or 3.26 per cent, to $8.62. The head of Cineplex Inc. is doubling down on video arcades as he looks to top up revenues amid the unsteady return of audiences to theatres. The company's bet on movie-adjacent entertainment venues comes despite its recent sale of arcade game distributor Player One Amusement Group. Cineplex recorded a $67.3-million gain on the deal in February, helping it swing to a $5.2-million profit for the first quarter compared with a $30.2-million loss in the first three months of 2023.
Quebecor Inc. (TSX:QBR.B). Telecom. Up $1.02, or 3.55 per cent, to $29.77. Strength in Quebecor's telecommunications business helped push its first-quarter profit up compared with a year ago, the company reported Thursday. It said its net income attributable to shareholders totalled $173.2 million or 75 cents per share for the quarter ended March 31, up from a profit of $120.9 million or 52 cents per share a year earlier. Revenue totalled $1.36 billion for the quarter, up from $1.12 billion in the first quarter of 2023, boosted by the acquisition of Freedom Mobile.Â
