SOUTHEAST SASKATCHEWAN - Environment Canada has lifted the latest special air quality statement for southeast Saskatchewan.

According to the advisory, issued in the early afternoon Friday, smoke would be causing or expected to cause poor air quality and reduced visibility. The agency noted wildfire smoke had drifted into parts of southern Saskatchewan Friday morning.

The advisory was lifted Saturday.

The advisory covered Regina, Estevan, Weyburn, Carlyle, Radville, Carnduff, Redvers, Wolseley, Moosomin and other communities.

It was the latest special air quality statement for the southeast this year, as wildfire smoke from forest fires has been a recurring problem.
