SASKATOON - Elmer and Ellen Exner were grinning from ear to ear after they checked their Lotto 6/49 ticket and discovered they won $100,000 on the June 21 Extra draw.
“I saw we had matched all the numbers but one,” explained Ellen. “But I didn’t know what it meant.”
“I called Elmer in and asked him to double-check the numbers, and sure enough, $100,000!” she exclaimed. “I still can’t believe it!”
Elmer said he couldn’t believe it either.
“I was looking at the numbers asking, ‘What does that mean? What did we get?’” he laughed. “Like, wow! How nice is that!?”
The couple said they haven’t made any plans for their windfall, yet.
“I think we’re still figuring it out,” said Ellen. “I don’t think it’ll all click until we have the cheque in our hands.”
The Exners won a free play on a previously purchased Lotto 6/49 ticket and redeemed the ticket at the Shoppers Drug Mart located at 3310 8th St. E in Saskatoon. They paid $1 to add Extra to their ticket.
They won their $100,000 prize by matching the last six digits of the EXTRA number drawn on June 21 – 6618961.
