SASKATOON — Monday and Tuesday, Saskatchewan Polytechnic celebrates the learning journey of graduates, along with award recipients, at the Saskatoon campus convocation ceremonies.
More than 1,800 students were invited to attend Saskatoon campus convocation. More than 5,000 students from all four Sask Polytech campuses are expected to graduate this academic year.
The Saskatoon campus ceremonies are broadcast live so graduates, family, friends and the polytechnic community who were unable to attend in-person could participate. To view the livestream or previously recorded video visit .
Sask Polytech Saskatoon graduates are joining a dynamic and diverse alumni network that is more than 150,000 strong.
Sask Polytech currently has a 96 per cent graduate employment rate and 94 per cent Indigenous graduate employment rate. One out of every 24 jobs in Saskatchewan is supported by the activities of Sask Polytech, its students and alumni.

Wendy Gan Su was recognized with the Governor General’s Academic Bronze Medal for the highest average in the Saskatoon campus Adult 12 program.
Nicole Shingoose, a graduate of the Medical Radiologic Technology program, is the recipient of the Governor General’s Academic Collegiate Bronze Medal for the highest average at the Saskatoon campus.
Cheryl Walker, Pharmacy Technician instructor, received the Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching. Walker instructs the math, legislation and chemistry courses for the program. In the past three years, she has focused on peer assessment activities. This learning technique requires students to understand the information correctly to assess their peers properly. Walker goes out of her way to help students in the most difficult course of the program.
Tristen Hansen, a graduate of the Culinary Arts program, was recognized with the Outstanding Citizenship Award. Hansen loves helping her classmates succeed. Some of Hansen’s volunteer activities include assisting with the Zoogala fundraiser at the Forestry Farm and Canada’s Great Kitchen Party event at TCU Place.
Sask Polytech awarded an honorary degree in Applied Studies to Tribal Chief Mark Arcand.
