REGINA - Saskatchewan Roughriders defensive back Nic Marshall has been arrested in Georgia on a charge of gun possession.
Reports are that Marshall was arrested on Wednesday in Columbus, Georgia and charged with possession of a sawed-off shotgun, sawed-off rifle, dangerous weapon, or silencer, according to AL.com.
The Roughriders have issued the following statement:
“The Saskatchewan Roughriders were made aware Sunday night through media reports that Nic Marshall was arrested on a gun possession charge in Georgia.
"The Club is disappointed and taking this matter seriously. We are currently gathering more information and will provide an update soon after.”
