The Regina Folk Festival is on Aug. 11-13 but needs the public鈥檚 support.

REGINA - The Regina Folk Festival is sounding the alarm, calling on the public to help out by buying tickets or making donations.

“The Regina Folk Festival is struggling,” the organization stated in a news release this week.

The organization, which has been going since 1969, has issued an appeal to the public to “ensure the festival stays strong for another 50 years. We can't do it without you.”

“It's no secret that the festival has experienced significant challenges over the past several years, which we continue to feel the effects of. The economic challenges resulting from the pandemic include stagnant funding, decreased sponsorship, increased expenses, and reduced ticket sales. We now find ourselves in a serious financial crisis that threatens the future of our non-profit organization. We urgently need help to sustain our beloved community-grown festival.”

The organization has suggested the public help the festival the following ways:

By spreading the word by tapping your network to buy tickets or donate;

Buy festival passes or single night tickets in advance;

Donate to the festival to make more members;

Volunteer by singing up for a role at the festival;

Sign up as a festival sponsor.
