PRINCE ALBERT — Emile Tessier was only in Hague to shop for a truck on Dec. 11, but ended up СÀ¶ÊÓƵ a major winner with a $500,000 Countdown To Christmas win!

He says he typically purchases Lotto 6/49 and Lotto Max tickets but had just won $200 on a Countdown To Christmas scratch ticket and decided to buy a second one with his winnings.

“I went for coffee with my aunt and started scratching the ticket,” he explained. “I couldn’t believe my eyes!”

He scanned his ticket with the Lotto Spot! app and sure enough, he had won big!

“I just melted!” Tessier said. “I didn’t expect this to happen today. I just thought I’d be pricing out trucks!”

Aside from a new truck, the Prince Albert local says he’s hoping to purchase land outside of the city and this will go a long way to making that dream come true.

“I’m just very overwhelmed!” he laughed. “I’m still shaking!”

Tessier purchased his winning ticket for $30 at Hague Shell, located on Highway 11 and Louis Riel Trail in Hague.

Holiday-themed scratch tickets like Countdown To Christmas are available for a limited time at Lotto Spot! retailers.
