REGINA — Representatives from Moto Canada are in Saskatchewan to discuss the province’s contributions to the motorcycle and off-highway vehicles (OHV) sector following the release of an in-depth economic impact study.
Moto Canada issued a release this week saying it is engaging in discussions with government officials of Saskatchewan’s provincial government to highlight the $886.2 million in the total economic output the province’s industry contributes, representing 5.12 per cent of Canada’s total economic output of $17.3 billion.
These meetings mark an important opportunity for Moto Canada to shed light on the significant impact of the motorcycle industry on Saskatchewan’s economy and emphasize the need for further government investments to enhance safety measures.
"The findings of this comprehensive study highlight the diverse contributions of the motorcycle and off-highway vehicles industry, encompassing sales figures and its role in bolstering tourism and generating government revenue. Saskatchewanians' enthusiasm for off-road motorcycles, ATVs, and Side-by-sides is evident in the $75.9 million sales, reflecting a thriving market and community,” Landon French, Moto Canada President and CEO said.
The meetings also led to discussions about Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month in May, followed by Off-Highway Vehicles Safety Awareness Month in June.
