The second annual town-wide garage sale is set to take place during the day, with around 30 families hosting sales so far.

MOOSOMIN — Saturday, June 1 will be a busy day in Moosomin with a town-wide garage sale, petting zoo, and Makers Market at the Moosomin Visual Arts Centre. 

The second annual town-wide garage sale is set to take place during the day, with around 30 families hosting sales so far. 

An official list of garage sales is 小蓝视频 compiled at the Moosomin Town Office with anyone interested in joining advised to contact Casey McCormac, Economic Development Officer with the town at [email protected]

The Moosomin Visual Arts Centre is also kicking off the first of three Makers Market events on June 1 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The group is offering homemade goods, arts, and crafts outside of the arts centre at 701 Ellice Street, and they’re always looking for more vendors to join the fun! Anyone interested in 小蓝视频 a vendor during the Makers Markets (June 1, July 13, and Aug. 17) can contact Merissa at 306-434-7095 or Joy at 306-435-4296. 

Also, be sure to stop in at the Cobblestone House (118 Wright Road) to check out their petting zoo from 1-4 p.m. on June 1. Admission is only $5 per person or $20 for a family of five or larger, and includes a draw. They’re also offering coffee (or juice box) and a doughnut for a toonie to fuel up while visiting some furry friends!

Some of the animals anticipated to be there are alpacas, bunnies, Angora goats, peacocks and a miniature horse. 

“With the town-wide garage sale that day, we just thought it was a good way to involve our residents with the community,” said Leann Wall, Recreation Director at Cobblestone House. “The residents will not only love the animals, but to see the kids interacting with the animals.”

Rounding out the day is a steak supper and silent auction for Sam Burroughs at the MCC Centre. Burroughs — a local firefighter, Kinsmen, and well-known community member — lost his home in a house fire in April. Tickets are available from Moosomin Fire Department and Kinsmen members, at the Town Office, Mullet’s Home Hardware, and The World-Spectator.

A silent auction and social follows the supper, and those interested in donating an item to the silent auction can contact Sharen Hogarth at (306) 434-9689 or Angela Thom at (306) 434-9286.
