REGINA — After earning four medals at three separate international competitions, Graeme Fish has been awarded January Athlete of the Month honours.
Fish started his month at the Canada Cup 1, placing first on the podium with two golds. He received the medals for his performance in the 10,000-metre and the 5,000-m race. The wins qualified him for the ISU Four Continents Speed Skating Championships. At the championships, he claimed silver in the 5,000-m category.
Later in the month, Fish competed in the ISU World Cup 5 to claim bronze and skated his best time of 6:11.06, in the 5,000-m Division B race.
Fish was nominated by Saskatchewan Amateur Speed Skating Association.
