Police court saw a Unity man fined $36 plus $4 costs for spinning tires of his vehicle. A Denzil man was fined $35 plus $4 costs “for driving at a speed greater than reasonable and safe.”
The Swarthmore District Women’s Institute awarded a $50 scholarship to Myrna Pewapeconias of Little Pine First Nation. Myrna was attending Cut Knife School and was chosen for the award “not only for her good marks but for excellent attitude, conduct dependability and courtesy.”
Macklin CWL reported the Halloween “Tricks or Treaters” had collected $186 for UNICEF.
Rainault’s TV in Unity was advertising “Over 300 8-Track Tapes to choose from.”
The new interest rate for City Savings and Trust Co. guaranteed investment certificates was 10¾ per cent.

Delta Co-op announced plans to construct a 27,110 square foot building – the Delta Co-op Marketplace – on their current Unity location’s parking lot downtown.
Sometime after consolidation of the Unity, Wilkie and Macklin RCMP detachments into one with 10 members, Sgt. Tammy Murray and Csts. Al Sutherland and Nodwell held a public forum. They emphasized the importance of calling police every time an infraction of the law was observed. Murray said, “You can’t assume we know what the problem is.”
Wilkie and Unity high schools jointly hosted senior boys’ provincial volleyball. The Broncs finished in fifth place and Unity in eighth.
Wilkie Ford was advertising their expansion grand opening, with doors opening at 8 p.m. Dec. 1, when the 2005 models would be introduced.
