The Unity Volunteer Ambulance Corps held their annual meeting and re-elected Bob Duns as president, Marie Thalheimer as secretary-treasurer and Graydon Olsen as vice-president.
In making a request to Unity town council for more space, Mrs. Howdle and Mrs. Simpson indicated the role of the public library had grown substantially, from 570 library cards in use in 1968 to 1,180 in 1974.
A petition from residents of northwest Saskatchewan was successful in calling a halt to further brush-cutting in the Atton’s Lake area. The PFRA had intended to clear more land for cattle but that plan had resulted in a storm of protest.

Heartland Health’s public health inspector sent a letter to Keith Wilson, Unity parks and recreation director, ordering the town to clear the Unity Community Centre of bats. The letter was the result of a town employee handling a live bat to take it outside and perhaps having been bitten through his glove.
Class A shareholders of the proposed Prairie Springs Mineral Spa in Wilkie gave the board an overwhelming vote of confidence, asking them to carry on with the project. The other option had been to stop the project and return all moneys raised thus far.
The Darlene Rumohr rink of Major, which included Ester Witt, Candice Rumohr and Diane Smith, defeated the Donna Fowler rink of Luseland to win the A event at the Luseland Ladies’ Spiel.
