Democracy hinges on our most important civic duty — to cast our votes in elections.

KERROBERT— There will be all new faces in the council chambers in Kerrobert except for the acclaimed mayoral candidate, Mike Mitchell. Mitchell, who sat on the town council previously, will be the only returning face at the table. Wayne Mock, who served as mayor this past term, decided to step down to focus on his family.

Councillors Brad Murphy, Terry Dunn, Chad Tetzlaff, Heather Wack and Del-Marie Kissick were not seeking re-election this year, leaving all six seats available for new candidates to fill. Seven candidates submitted their names into the running, Connor Phillips, Kim Burgardt, Don Snell, Matthew Roblin, Regis Neumeier, Lisa Knorr and Cody Hall.

Snell gained the most votes with 201, closely followed by Neumeier with 198. A two-point spread was between Connor Phillips with 188 and Burgardt with 186. Hall received 143 votes, and Knorr was elected the last seat with 127 votes. Roblin received 117 votes. A total of 203 voters came out to the municipal election.

Based on the informational evening the Kerrobert Chamber of Commerce held prior to the election, the members elected to council are eager and excited to continue the work of previous councils.
