Vibank education assistant charged

Police say inappropriate communication made online led to charges.

VIBANK – Police have laid charges against a woman from the RM of Francis after a report of inappropriate communication online with a male youth. The report came to Indian Head RCMP back in October, 2022, and on Jan. 16 and arrest was made.

“The victim was identified as a student within Prairie Valley School District,” said RCMP in a media release. “The suspect was an education assistant at Vibank Regional School, also within Prairie Valley School District, at the time the offence allegedly occurred and is no longer employed there.”

Through investigation, a second male youth victim was also identified, and police say there could be others.

Stacey Duke, 38, is charged with two counts each sexual exploitation of a young person; making sexually explicit material available to a child; and luring a child.

She will appear in Indian Head court on March 7, and victims have asked for privacy at this time.
