REGINA – An early morning traffic stop meant court appearances this afternoon for two Regina men.
At around 3:45 a.m., members of the Canine Unit noticed an erratic driver in the area of Seventh Avenue and Halifax Street.
"When officers approached the vehicle, they observed a bulletproof vest and a firearm in plain view," said RPS in a media release. "The two occupants of the vehicle were taken into police custody without incident."
A search following the arrest noted the passenger of the vehicle СÀ¶ÊÓƵ in possession of a knife, ammunition, and drugs. A search ofthe vehicle garnered similar results, a shotgun and ammunition plus even more drugs.
Joel Eberts, 25, and Alex Logan LIttlechief, 19, were both charged with possession of a weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a vehicle, possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition and careless use of a firearm.
Eberts was further charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle, and Littlechief was additionally charged with carrying a concealed weapon and drug possession.
Both men are scheduled to make a court appearance this afternoon in Regina Provincial Court.
