Traffic stop in Saskatoon results in drug trafficking charges

Two Alberta men face drug trafficking and weapons-related offences.

SASKATOON – A traffic stop by Saskatoon police resulted in the arrest of two Alberta men, ages 29 and 31, who now face drug trafficking and weapons-related offences.

Just before 10 p.m. on Wednesday night, patrol officers conducted a traffic stop on a black Volkswagen Tiguan in the 1100 block of 22nd Street West. During the traffic stop, officers observed the driver to be in possession of a bag that contained suspected illicit drugs. As a result, the two occupants were taken into custody and further investigation located a firearm, ammunition, 0.72 grams of suspected cocaine, a digital scale, $1,000 in cash, two cell phones, hotel room cards, and a box of nearly 9,000 illicit cigarettes.

As a result of the investigation, a search warrant was executed on a hotel room in the 300 block of Shillington Crescent. There, police seized 56.48 grams of cocaine, 575 ml of codeine Phosphate, $2,900 in cash, a digital scale, and other items consistent with drug trafficking.

When the two men were 小蓝视频 processed SPS Detention, police seized an additional 20.52 grams of cocaine from the 29-year-old man.

The two face numerous drug- and weapons-related charges.
