REGINA – An early morning collision over the weekend has resulted in the fatality of a Regina teen.
Just after 1 a.m. on April 23, police were called to 13th Avenue and Garnet Street after a pedestrian had been struck by an east bound vehicle.
"EMS attended and confirmed the 16-year-old male victim was deceased," said RPS in a media release. "The family of the victim have been notified. The name of the deceased will not be released by the Regina Police Service."
The collision had 13th Avenue closed for several hours on Sunday as investigators worked to determine events leading up to the incident.
Investigation between RPS and the Office of the Chief Coroner is ongoing, and anyone with information that might assist police are asked to contact RPS at (306) 777-6500.
