Saskatoon school locked down with heavy police presence in area

There is a heavy police presence in the 200 block of Avenue S СÀ¶ÊÓƵ due to an ongoing investigation.

SASKATOON - Saskatoon Police Service is advising the public of a heavy police presence in the 200 block of Avenue S СÀ¶ÊÓƵ due to an ongoing investigation. A school in the area is closed as a precaution.

RCMP had issued a dangerous person’s alert for Beardy’s and Okemasis at 9:44 a.m. Wednesday morning. The alerts were cancelled within minutes after police arrested two people.

The alert was in connection to a homicide in Saskatoon Wednesday morning. Following the shooting death, two people fled the scene and were armed. 

The alert was cancelled at 9:58 a.m. by RCMP after a male and female were taken into custody. Fifteen people were taken into custody in the 200 block of Avenue S СÀ¶ÊÓƵ in Saskatoon. 

Saskatchewan RCMP say that investigation updates will now come from Saskatoon Police Service.
