Saskatoon police seize prohibited firearm, man arrested

A 20-year-old man faces several firearms related charges including unauthorized possession of a firearm, and carrying a concealed weapon.

SASKATOON - The Saskatoon Police Service has arrested a 20-year-old man in connection to a firearms investigation.

On March 13, the SPS Guns and Gangs Unit investigated after receiving information that a man, near the 1500 block of 19th Street West, was in possession of a prohibited firearm. At approximately 2 p.m., officers located a 20-year-old man in the 1300 block of 20th Street West and arrested him without further incident.

He was carrying a bag that contained a prohibited firearm inside. The 20-year-old man faces several firearms related charges including unauthorized possession of a firearm, and carrying a concealed weapon.
