Saltcoats pair focus of drug bust

Combined police effort seizes fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine and paraphernalia.

SALTCOATS – Police put a dent in the rural drug trade recently. A joint effort of the RPS Drug Unit, RCMP, and Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan resulted in a search warrant executed in the 100 block of Crescent Lake Road in Saltcoats.

Police arrested Scott Douglas Flaman and Crystal Paige Ford, seizing more than 820 grams of fentanyl, 3,200 grams of methamphetamine, cocaine, money and additional items involved with drug trafficking.

The pair were charged with two counts possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of cocaine and possessing proceeds of crime under $5,000.

Ford was also charged with failure to comply with release conditions.

Both made their first court appearances on these charges on Jan 20, and will return on Jan. 25.
