SPIRITWOOD – Police seized drugs and firearms and arrested three men wanted on outstanding warrants.
Spiritwood RCMP was requested to assist a partner agency at a residence on Witchekan Lake First Nation. Officers observed three adult males known to be on warrants in the residence. As a result of subsequent investigation, officers located and seized approximately 26 grams of methamphetamine, a semi-automatic firearm, a sawed-off firearm, approximately 150 rounds of ammunition, numerous knives and trafficking paraphernalia.
As a result, three men were arrested on outstanding warrants. An adult female at the residence was also arrested.
Melvin Starblanket, 33, from Spiritwood is charged with failing to comply with a release order condition. He was also arrested on an outstanding warrant from Prince Albert Police Service. He is scheduled to appear in court in Spiritwood on June 13.
Two other men were also arrested.
