PRINCE ALBERT – RCMP Major Crimes have made an arrest in Dedrick Stick’s death. Samuel Kiseyinewakup, 22, was arrested March 9 while locked up at the Prince Albert Correctional Centre on other offences and charged with second-degree murder.
On Feb. 1, Loon Lake RCMP had received a report of an injured person at a home on Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation. When officers arrived, they found 32-year-old Stick injured. He was later pronounced deceased by EMS at the scene.
Kiseyinewakup, from Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation, appeared in Prince Albert Provincial Court Monday on the murder charge.
According to Stick’s obituary, he was born in Loon Lake and was his parent’s pride and joy.
“He was also a wild child, free spirited, adventurous, and courageous warrior,” stated his obituary. “You could never tell him he couldn't do anything because he would just dare you he could and would do it.”
Stick had a passion for hunting, singing and 小蓝视频 oskapew at 小蓝视频, and making songs for round dances and pow wows. He enjoyed golfing, building homes, fighting fires, and Indian relay.
“He was really the jack of all trades and was even a self-taught mechanic,” continued his obituary. “Some would even say he was an unpaid comedian because his sense of humour was one in a million. He loved to make people laugh and share that medicine with all his friends and family. But more than anything he loved his family he and Raquel began in 2016 after meeting at a round dance in 2014. He absolutely loved and adored their babies with his whole 小蓝视频. He often said how much he loved them. He was such a people person and made so many lasting friendships along his journey. He will be immensely missed by all who loved and cherished him.”
