PRINCE ALBERT — RCMP say human remains found recently have been identified as Joanne Highway, who was reported missing to Prince Albert RCMP on Dec. 9, 2022.

In a recent development, the Prince Albert RCMP received a report on April 23 regarding human remains discovered in a wooded area in the RM of Buckland. The officers immediately arrived at the scene and initiated a sudden death investigation with the support of Saskatchewan RCMP Forensic Identification Services, Major Crimes, and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service.

While the investigation into Highway’s death is still ongoing in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, the preliminary indication is that no foul play is suspected in relation to Joanne's death, pending final results of the autopsy and toxicology.
