UPDATE: Fatality in Langenburg collision

Police say conditions foggy, warn motorists to use caution.

UPDATE – A Regina man has died as a result fo the multi-vehicle collision near Langenburg last week. 

RCMP say two pick-up trucks collided with a semi, with people involved in the collision taken to hospital for injuries.

"The driver of one of the pick-up trucks, a 59-year-old male from Regina, was declared deceased at the scene," RCMP said in a media release. "His family has been notified."

Investigation continues with Esterhazy RCMP and the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.

 

UPDATE – Police report that the highway has re-opened to traffic and detours are no longer in place.

LANGENBURG – Foggy conditions are currently a factor on Highway 16 as emergency crews deal with a multi-vehicle collision.

Esterhazy RCMP say the scene is just east of Langenburg with police and local fire services working to ensure safety.

"Traffic detours will be in place for some time," RCMP said in a media release. "Motorists are asked to drive with caution and adhere to all direction provided by emergency personnel in and around the area."
