Man arrested in Saskatoon drug bust remains in custody

Police seized two vehicles, more than $20,000 in cash, and a large amount of drugs.

After arresting Norman Douglas and Tasha Thompson, police seized two vehicles [2013 Lincoln MKX and a 2009 Hyundai Genesis] $20,269 CAD, $276 USD, 225 grams of powdered cocaine, 518 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 704 dilaudid [hydromorphone] pills, and drug trafficking paraphernalia.

SASKATOON – A 42-year-old man arrested by the Saskatoon Crime Reduction Team last year remains in custody.

Norman Douglas had an appearance in Saskatoon Provincial Court Friday and was remanded in custody until his next appearance on March 17 to enter an election.

Douglas, and 39-year-old Tasha Marie Thompson were arrested Sept. 22, 2022, after Saskatoon police observed the two in a suspected drug transaction in the 300 block of 4th Avenue North. Officers arrested the two minutes later a short distance away.

Police seized two vehicles [2013 Lincoln MKX and a 2009 Hyundai Genesis] $20,269 CAD, $276 USD, 225 grams of powdered cocaine, 518 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 704 dilaudid [hydromorphone] pills, and drug trafficking paraphernalia.

Douglas and Thompson were charged with drug trafficking and proceeds of crime related offences.

A bench warrant to hold was issued against Thompson on March 1 until March 22.

The Saskatoon Crime Reduction Team is funded by the Government of Saskatchewan through the Ministry of Justice, Corrections and Policing.
