Man accused of pulling a rifle on Saskatoon police seeks bail

SASKATOON – A 36-year-old man facing assault and weapons charges was back in Saskatoon court Wednesday for a show cause hearing. The hearing was adjourned to April 28.

James Spencer Lawn is accused of grabbing a firearm and racking it when police were attempting to escort him out of a home following a domestic dispute on March 31. to a home in the 2000 block of Munroe Avenue СÀ¶ÊÓƵ around 5:30 p.m. for a domestic dispute.

Saskatoon Police Services say that Lawn became agitated and officers saw him grab a rifle from behind a door. The officers exited the home after they heard Lawn rack the firearm. Police set up a perimeter around the home. Lawn walked out of the house with the rifle but dropped it to the ground, say police.

He was charged with assaulting a police officer with a weapon, three counts of threatening to use a weapon, using a firearm in the commission of an offence, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and breach of conditions.
