Macklin man accused of wielding bat at RCMP officers back in court

UNITY – A 50-year-old Macklin man accused of threatening Alberta RCMP staff  was back in Unity Circuit Court Monday and his matter was adjourned to June 19 for plea.

Jason Tucker is charged with assaulting police officers, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and uttering threats to RCMP staff in Provost, Alta.

Tucker allegedly threatened Provost, Alta., RCMP staff, and when Unity RCMP were dispatched to his home, police say Tucker approached them wielding a baseball bat and threatened to use it against an officer. After Tucker went back into his house, police got a search warrant to enter his home and arrest him.

The charges against Tucker haven't been tested in court.
