BELL'S POINT — Update March 19: Three persons of interest are in custody after an incident at Bell’s Point prompted RCMP to issue a release regarding a police presence in the area.
On March 17, at approximately 4:20 p.m., La Ronge RCMP received a report of an injured male in Bell’s Point.
Officers immediately responded and located the injured adult male, who was transported to hospital with injuries described as serious in nature.
RCMP say they have determined that three individuals, dressed in all black, approached the victim as he was sitting in a vehicle. A firearm was discharged, injuring the victim and then the three individuals fled on foot.
On March 18, La Ronge RCMP, Saskatchewan RCMP’s Crime Reduction Team (CRT) and Saskatchewan RCMP’s Critical Incident Response Team executed a search warrant at a residence in Bell’s Point in relation to the investigation. Officers have brought three persons of interest into custody. The investigation continues and RCMP say they will provide updates when they are able to do so.
If an imminent risk to public safety is identified, RCMP say they will notify the public.

Original post March 18: La Ronge RCMP advises there is an increased police presence in Bell’s Point in relation to an ongoing investigation. People are asked to avoid the areas where officers are present and to follow any police direction provided.
