Police urge public to "take preventative measures."

REGINA – Police issued a public advisory in Regina concerning Jason Paul Thorn - a man considered a high risk as a sexual offender.

Thorn - described as СÀ¶ÊÓƵ 5'9"tall, 170 lbs., of medium build with brown hair and eyes - has a criminal history that includes sexual offences and of re-offending.

"He poses a high risk for acts of sexual offending against female children," said RPS in a media release. "The prospects for reduction of his risk through treatment interventions are poor."

On April 24, Thorn was granted a statutory release, abiding by a long list of conditions including not СÀ¶ÊÓƵ in the presence of anyone under 18 or in places where such individuals are likely to gather, abstain from drugs and alcohol, follow psychiatric counselling and medication, not to acces pornography or sexually explicit material, reside at an approved facility, and not to associate with anyone involved in criminal activity or substance use.

"Any member of the public who has questions or concerns is encouraged to contact the Regina Police Service at 306-777-6500," RPS said, adding that reports of Thorn СÀ¶ÊÓƵ in violation of his conditions can also be reported to them or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
