SASKATOON – A has been launched to help four young children who have lost both parents.
Jessica Caron, 44, was murdered on Feb. 1. Saskatoon Police found her body Feb. 7 on the outskirts of Saskatoon off of 11th Street a few kilometres from Highway 7. Her husband, 43-year-old Derek Caron, has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with her death.
The fundraiser is to help Jessica Caron’s four youngest children between the age of six and 12, Allison Hornby told SASKTODAY.ca.

She said that the four children are now living with relatives who have gone from a young family of three to a family of seven overnight.
“Words cannot describe the full scale of what has taken place or what these four children are going through right now. The children have faced a devastating loss and their lives will never be the same.”
As of Feb. 21, approximately $3,513 has been raised
Hornby said that the young family of three that have taken in the four children are facing moving expenses to relocate to a larger home and need to buy a van that seats seven.
“Following the relocation to a new home and the purchase of a van all additional donations will be placed in trust for the children,” said Hornby.
Crystal Lafond, 37, was also arrested in connection with Jessica Caron's death. She is charged with helping Derek Caron escape. She also faces weapons and theft charges in other incidents.
