REGINA – Police were kept busy responding to reports of break and enter to businesses over the weekend. A total of four men were arrested and now face charges in two separate incidents, both on March 4.
Early Saturday morning, police responded to the first report just before 3 a.m. to a business on the 800 block of Victoria Avenue, where early reports indicate at least one male had broken in.
“Upon police arrival, the suspects had fled,” RPS said in a media release. “Investigation led police to an address in the 900 block of 12th Avenue where two males were arrested without incident.”
Alijah Dubois, 20, of Regina was charged with break and enter with intent, and obstruct a peace officer.
Tyler Dubois, 19, of Regina was charged with break and enter with intent, and through further investigation, was charged with three counts break, enter and commit.
Both men will make their first court appearance on these charges on March 6.
That same evening, just before 7 p.m., police were sent to the 600 block of Broad Street for another business break in.
“Police received information that a vehicle stolen in a break and enter to the same address on March 3 had returned,” said RPS. “Police attended to the business and located the stolen vehicle in the compound.”
The two suspects in the vehicle were arrested at the scene without incident.
“Through further investigation, it was learned that one of the suspects was also involved in a break and enter to another business located in the 2700 block of Gordon Road also on March 3,” RPS said.
Elijah Taypayosatum, 20, of Piapot First Nation, is charged with break and enter with intent, possession of stolen property over $5,000, possession of stolen property under $5,000, and breach of probation. He’ll make a first court appearance on these charges on April 19.
Delbert Kaiswatum, 27, of Regina is charged with break, enter and commit, break and enter with intent, possession of stolen property over $5,000, possession of stolen property under $5,000, theft of a motor vehicle, possession of an identity document, impaired operation of a conveyance by drug, and breach of undertaking.
His first court appearance on these matters is March 6.
