SASKATOON – The case against a 50-year-old Saskatoon man accused of defrauding a car dealership of $250,000 worth of inventory continues to be adjourned for election.
Dwayne Bruce Onofriechuk was scheduled to enter an election in Saskatoon Provincial Court March 28 but his matter was adjourned to April 4. The case has been adjourned for election since May 2022.
Court documents obtained by SASKTODAY.ca show that Onofriechuk is charged with fraud over $5,000 and theft over $5,000 for stealing used vehicles from Mid-City Auto between Sept. 15, 2016, and Feb. 15, 2018, while he was employed at the dealership. The charges against him haven’t been tested in court.
Onofriechuk was arrested by the Saskatoon Police Service Fraud Unit in March 2022 after a lengthy investigation.
In April 2022, court heard that the Crown is proceeding by indictment against Onofriechuk.
