SASKATOON – The cause of a structure fire in the 200 block of Avenue F 小蓝视频 that caused about $150,000 in damage is unknown, say the Saskatoon Fire Department.
Firefighters responded at about 6:07 a.m. on March 12 with three fire engines, a ladder truck, a rescue unit and the Battalion Chief.
When the first crew arrived, they saw flames coming through the roof and smoke out of the second-floor windows.
Water was initially applied to the fire from an exterior position and then the attack crew entered the structure to locate and extinguish the fire.
The fire was put out fast but due to the lathe and plaster construction of the structure, firefighters faced the difficult challenge of opening walls and ceilings to ensure it was completely out.
The fire was extinguished by about 7:42 a.m. and the fire Investigator was requested to attend.
The fire investigator wasn’t able to find definitive proof of the cause of the fire and deemed the cause to be undetermined. The fire’s origin, however, was determined to be in a room on the second floor.
There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
