BUFFALO NARROWS – Two people are charged and multiple items were seized after a search of a vehicle between le-à-la-Crosse and Canoe Narrows Monday.
On Feb. 6, Buffalo Narrows RCMP received a report of a break and enter and theft from a residence in Buffalo Narrows. It was reported that several firearms were stolen from the residence, including several duty items and a firearm belonging to a conservation officer with the Provincial Protective Services Branch. These items were СÀ¶ÊÓƵ properly stored at the time the theft was reported.
As a result of extensive investigation by Buffalo Narrows RCMP and Meadow Lake CRT, a traffic stop was initiated on a SUV on Highway 155 between IÎle-à-la-Crosse and Canoe Narrows. The vehicle pulled over and a search took place. Police recovered several of the items reported stolen, including the conservation officer’s firearm. Other items located inside the vehicle include suspected cocaine and methamphetamine, a quantity of cash, cellular phones, another firearm, a drone, knives, bear mace and a baton.
Two people were in the vehicle. Justin Sinclair, 35, from Green Lake and Karrianna Petit, 21, from Buffalo Narrows were arrested.
Sinclair was charged with possession of weapon in a motor vehicle, possession of restricted weapon without license/registration, possession of weapon obtained by crime, unauthorized possession of a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, unsafe storage of firearm, six counts of possession of weapons contrary to surrender authorization, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking.
Petit was charged with two counts of possession of weapon in a motor vehicle, possession of restricted weapon without license/registration, two counts possession of weapon obtained by crime, unauthorized possession of a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, unsafe storage of firearm, four counts of failing to comply with conditions of an undertaking, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking.
Sinclair and Petit were remanded to appear in court Feb. 15 in Beauval by phone.
