TAKE NOTICE that the Council for the Corporation of the Town of Halton Hills has approved Official Plan Amendment No.57 by passing By-Law No. 2024-0083 on the 28th day of October 2024 under Section 17 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c, P.13 as amended.
The purpose of Amendment No. 57 is to establish a Secondary Plan for the Stewarttown Area with appropriate land use designations and policies to guide any development of these lands for residential purposes. The Secondary Plan applies to the Stewarttown Area (bounded by the CN Rail Line, No. 15 Side Road and intersected by Trafalgar Road) as shown on Attachment 1 of this notice.
A statutory public meeting was held on June 17, 2024, at which Town Council considered five oral submissions and three written submissions with respect to OPA 57. The Town’s review process considered all public agency and public submissions regarding OPA 57.
Approval Authority
Official Plan Amendment No. 57 is exempt from obtaining Provincial approval. In accordance with Ontario Regulation 525/97 of the Planning Act, a copy of this Notice, Official Plan Amendment No. 57, and the Stewarttown Secondary Plan shall be sent to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing for information.
Any person or public body will be entitled to receive notice of the decision of the Town of Halton Hills if a written request to be notified of the decision (including the person’s or public body’s address, fax number or email address) is made to the Town. Request for the notice of decision can be made to the Town Clerk at 1 Halton Hills Drive, Halton Hills, Ontario, L7G 5G2 or [email protected].
The deadline to appeal the decision regarding Official Plan Amendment No. 57 is November 18, 2024 at 4:30 p.m.
Legal Notices Required under the Planning Act:
1. If a person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the Council of the Town of Halton Hills to the Ontario Land Tribunal but the person or public body did not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Town of Halton Hills before the proposed Official Plan Amendment is adopted, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.
2. If a person or public body did not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Town of Halton Hills before the proposed Official Plan Amendment is adopted, the person or public body may not be added as a party or participant to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a participant or party.
