Ian & Brenda Ludgate
In '73, fate had a plan
It was in Hamilton their love began
Brenda met Ian, sparks in the air
A story unfolding, a love so rare
One year later, Kirkland Lake, they wed
With vows written by hearts that led
By '79, in Blind River, they stayed
In Forrest Glen, a home they made
One of twelve houses, their roots grew deep
In this small town, promises they鈥檇 keep
Brenda鈥檚 kindness, the food bank her care
Many years volunteering, she鈥檚 always there
In twenty-thirteen, Ian showed his devotion
After the mall fell, he set things in motion
Honoring deeds, a proud legacy
With handshakes, smiles, and a Queen's Jubilee
Four children blessed their lives with cheer
Through ups and downs, year after year
Now seven grandkids fill their days
With laughter, hockey, and musical plays
Together they鈥檝e danced at concerts throughout
With many more to talk about
Now it鈥檚 Grandad in the garden, tending it with care,
Sunlight on his shoulders, a breeze in the air.
Hands worn with wisdom, planting seeds of old,
With whispers of earth, stories not told.
And Grandmum, it鈥檚 true, still putters about
She keeps the home cozy, with plants throughout
Baking with care and a steady glow,
Every room feels the warmth, an ongoing show
Through ups and downs, they鈥檝e both stayed strong
A love like theirs, pure and lifelong
Now fifty years, a golden hue
We feel we must congratulate you
Here's to many more years, side by side
With family, travel, and joy as you stride
Happy 50th Wedding Anniversary Brenda & Ian Ludgate!
