YORKTON - The YRHS Senior girls volleyball team hosted a 10-team tournament this past weekend.
The teams included a few local teams and Saskatchewan teams from Estevan, Prince Albert, and Saskatoon among others.
The YRHS girls finished the round robin portion of the tournament undefeated, 4-0, which gave them a bye into the semi-final.
In the semi-final they faced a strong St. Joe's team from Saskatoon and prevailed 2-0.
Next, they met PA St. Mary, who was also undefeated throughout the tourney.
This was the third time this season where these teams have met in the championship sides of the playoffs in various tournaments.
And, like the previous times the YRHS prevailed and finished an undefeated weekend at home .
They defeated St. Mary 2-0 to take the gold.
With two bronze and two gold in the first four weekends of the season, the team has gotten off to a successful start and is continuing to look to improve even more in the future, said head coach Dion Pfeifer.
