Wagantall worries over state of House of Commons.

YORKTON - Throughout Christmas, Christians celebrate the Hope and Love that God provides through the birth of His Son, Jesus Christ. He lived, died, and rose again so that we can choose His free gift of eternal life beginning right here, on Earth.

In the House of Commons, we have secularists challenging Members of Parliament for “allowing faith” to impact how we engage with our laws. When I was accused of 小蓝视频 influenced by my Christian faith in the House, my response was, “Everyone in this place has faith. The difference between us is where and in whom we put our faith.”

Secularism seeks to conduct human affairs without religious involvement. In our House of Commons, there is a blatant desire to see the values and morals of those who believe in God removed.

They use the rationale that there should be a “separation of church and state,” claiming the church must be excluded from the business of the state.

This is opposite to the intent of the term, which is from a letter written on January 1, 1802 by Thomas Jefferson, in which he was assuring a specific church community that it is the church that is protected from state control under the 1st Amendment of the Constitution. It is an American phrase that has been abused in the US and in Canada, where our Bill of Rights and Charter of Rights and Freedoms protect the church from state interference.

We all are endowed with the gift to have and express faith. The question is… where and in whom do we place our faith?

Wherever your faith lives, I wish you a heart of thankfulness and wonderful memories with family and friends during the Christmas season.
