YORKTON – The Royal Auto Group kicked off the We Scare Hunger Food Drive Oct. 28.
Vlada Kovalska, Marketing Assistant at Royal Auto Group, shared that the initiative runs until Nov. 1, and aims to collect as much food as possible to be donated to the Soup Haven for use in lunches for the city's youth.
“We're just trying to help them collect as much food as possible for them to help them have healthy lunches,” said Kovalska.
So far, the drive has already seen significant success, with Sacred Heart High School contributing around 700 pounds of food.
“This year we are very proud that all the schools are participating in Yorkton,” said Kovalska.
Kovalska said the goal for this year is to collect 2000 kilograms of food, a target that the organization hopes to reach with the support of kids and parents alike.
“Hopefully this year we'll be able to reach the goal with support of kids and parents as well,” said Kovalska, adding, “it's doing very good.”
In addition to school collections, donation boxes are available at both Royal Ford and Royal Honda. Kovalska encouraged anyone willing to help to drop off food donations.
“Anyone willing to donate food and help kids to have their healthy lunches can drop it off here,” said Kovalska.
