YORKTON - It was an unusual weekend for the Yorkton Terriers of the SJHL.
Friday the team hit the road to play a home game as the Terriers hosted the Estevan Bruins in a contest held at the Cote First Nation Arena with 659 in attendance.
The Bruins started the ledger at 6:45 when Kent Moors scored a short-handed effort.
Quinn Tavender scored his first of the season to tie things at 12:28.
The tie held until well into the middle stanza when Tavender netted his second for the only marker of the period.
Moors scored 20-seconds into the third to lift the Bruins into a 2-2 tie with a powerplay goal.
It was all Terriers from there.
Vinay Junek scored a powerplay effort as Yorkton edged ahead 3-2.
Then late, at 19:09 Dustin Renas added an empty-netter to give the Terriers some security up 4-2.
Tylan Henrikson would then add a powerplay goal with one-second left on the clock to round out a 5-2 Terrier win.
Callum Creig was in the Yorkton net facing 27-shots in the win.
Benjamin Polhill allowed four goals on 27-shots for the Bruins.
A night later the Terriers were on the road to play LaRonge, but it was a short trip as the game was a neutral site affair played at the Kaminski Arena in Churchbridge in front of 313 fans.
The teams would trade first period powerplay goals, Keenan Ingram scoring at 13:21 for Yorkton, and Dmitri Toporowski for the Ice Wolves at 16:30.
The lone goal of the second frame would be scored late as Aiden Knutson edged the Terriers ahead with a marker with only seven-seconds remaining.
Ingram scored a powerplay effort at 2:14 to extend the Yorkton lead to 3-1.
Taite Donlin responded with a powerplay effort for LaRonge at 3:58.
The game was finally concluded when Quinn Schutte scored his first of the season into an empty net to round out a 4-2 Terrier win.
Ethan Farrow was in goal for the Terrier win facing 25-shots.
Graham Brown faced 39-shots in the Terrier net.
The Terriers now sit with a 10-7 record for 20 points and third spot in the SJHL Viterra Division, one point back of second place Melville and three behind front-running Weyburn with 23 points. Estevan rounds out the division with only 10 points.
Up next for the Terriers, they head to The Battlefords to face the North Stars in a two-game set Friday and Saturday.
